Six Stops, From First Weigh-In to a Verified Build
No session skips the beam. Whatever else happens — demo testing, launch data, turf work — the first and last thing that happens to a club here is a weigh-in on a calibrated scale.
Baseline Weigh-In
Every club you brought gets measured for length, weighed for head and shaft mass separately, and read on the beam for swingweight. This takes fifteen to twenty-five minutes depending on how many clubs you brought, and it happens before any discussion of what to change — we want the numbers first, opinions second.
Strike & Movement Read
A short warm-up on the launch monitor with your current clubs, watching contact pattern, path and any tempo tell that would matter for spec decisions later. We are not chasing a swing change here — we are confirming what your delivery actually is before recommending anything against it.
Demo Testing
Heads and shafts come off the wall in pairs, weighed before you hit them so we know exactly what swingweight each combination lands at. You hit real shots, we watch the monitor and the beam together, and combinations get eliminated fast once a pattern shows up.
Iteration
Once two or three combinations separate from the pack, we start adjusting length, tip weight or grip to walk the swingweight toward a target reading rather than accepting whatever the stock pairing happens to land on.
Spec Lock
We sit down together with the full sheet: head, shaft, length, lie, loft, grip and target swingweight for every club affected. You sign off before anything gets ordered, and you keep a copy either way.
Build & Recheck
Wes builds the clubs on the bench once components arrive, and every finished club crosses the beam a second time before pickup. If a reading is off the target by more than half a point, it gets corrected before you ever see it.
Why a Full Bag Session Runs Three Hours
Fourteen clubs each need an individual weigh-in, and most fittings involve testing at least two or three alternatives per category before landing on a final spec. Rushing that process defeats the purpose of doing it on a calibrated beam in the first place — a fast reading is not necessarily an accurate one, and we would rather run long than guess.
